ELA Awards 2024 Finalists Announced

The expert jury for the selection of the ELA Awards 2024 has chosen six finalist projects that will be presented in Bled.

The international expert jury for the selection of the European Logistics Project of the Year 2024, ELA Awards 2024, has announced six finalist projects after evaluation and joint discussion. The winner will be announced at the prestigious ELA Awards 2024 event on 3rd October 2024 in Bled, Slovenia. The award selection is organised by the European Logistics Association (ELA), and the event will be co-organised by the Slovenian Logistics Association.


Six Champions are Coming to Bled

The projects that have made it to the finals are as follows (listed in alphabetical order of the companies/project holders):

  1. CTT, Correios de Portugal (Submitted by APLOG)
    Project: Smart System: An Iberian solution for e-commerce logistics
    This project focuses on transforming operations to boost efficiency and effectiveness in response to the rapid growth of e-commerce. By optimizing logistics processes, the project addresses the increasing demand for faster, more reliable order fulfilment across Iberia.
  2. Hermes, Germany GmbH (Submitted by BVL Germany)
    Project: Green Delivery Hamburg
    Hermes Germany has made history in Hamburg by creating a fully CO2-free parcel delivery system for an entire metropolis. Since the end of 2023, up to 12 million parcels annually are delivered purely via electric vehicles, setting a new standard in the courier, express, and parcel (CEP) industry.
  3. La Poste France (Submitted by France Supply Chain by Aslog)
    Project: Real Time Visibility Control Tower
    This innovative control tower enables real-time monitoring of transport activities. It provides immediate alerts in case of delays, allowing La Poste’s supervision teams to manage logistics more effectively and ensure seamless postal operations.
  4. Rail Cargo Group & Transporean GmbH (Submitted by VNL Austria)
    Project: Shift2Rail – Multimodal Transport with Real-Time Visibility
    The project aims to create a seamless shift from road to rail transport by integrating real-time visibility through the Transporeon platform. This multimodal approach combines the sustainability of rail freight with the flexibility of trucking, offering a sustainable solution for land transport in Europe.
  5. USYNCRO (Submitted by ICIL Spain)
    Project: Cross Company Collaboration in Supply Chain Management
    Utilizing cutting-edge technologies like Blockchain and AI, this project fosters collaboration across supply chains by creating a virtual ecosystem where participants can share information securely. The initiative eliminates manual processes, enhances data governance, and moves towards a paperless, agile supply chain.•
  6. Żabka Polska Sp. z o.o. (Submitted by PTL, Poland)
    Project: Automated Logistics in Żabka
    With a dynamic growth rate of approximately 1,000 new stores per year, Żabka Polska has invested in an automated logistics center designed to serve up to 5,000 stores. The automation enhances operational efficiency, reduces costs, and increases capacity, positioning the company to continue its rapid expansion while improving sustainability.

The concluding gala event of the ELA Awards 2024 promises insights into the best international examples of good practices, innovative solutions, and networking with industry experts.
