INTERCLUSTER - Promoting Interregional Logistics Clustering in Adrion Area

Logistics systems in the ADRION region suffer from significant constraints, particularly in last-mile connections between ports, terminals and logistics centres, which hinders the exchange of goods within the region.

The region also suffers from an underdeveloped cluster landscape, as cooperation between research centres, public authorities and private companies is not yet fully exploited. The INTERCLUSTER project aims to develop and test innovative solutions to overcome these challenges by promoting sustainability, innovation and internationalisation of the logistics sector in the Adrion area. The creation of a Smart & Sustainable Macro-regional Cluster aims to:

- promote the green and digital transformation of the sector;

- introduce innovation and policy instruments;

- promote the development of short supply chains.

Project will develop:

The project will focus on several key activities aimed at improving the logistics sector in the ADRION region. First, the partners will identify common challenges in the logistics sector and analyse different smart and sustainable cluster models based on best practises in Europe. This will lead to the creation of a smart specialisation strategy and an action plan to modernise the logistics sector in the Adrion area. An important part of the project is the establishment of the "Adrion Macro-regional Cluster"," a cross-border cooperation network to promote innovation and internationalisation. In addition, the project will develop an e-networking and business support platform to facilitate communication and co-operation between logistics companies, research institutions and public authorities.

Another important goal is the development of smart, environmentally friendly digital applications and services to improve the efficiency of logistics processes. Various events will be organised throughout the project, including peer learning sessions to build capacity and demonstration events to ensure knowledge transfer and promote the adoption of innovative logistics practises.

Project duration: September 1st 2024 – August 31st 2027.
