SLA Podcast #2│ELA is the largest and most influential logistics association. Markus Mau believes that it has the opportunity to achieve something truly unique.
The European Logistics Association (ELA) is the largest and most influential logistics association when it comes to representing the entire industry. It brings together 28 national members and more than 55,000 logistics experts. According to their president, this is a huge surplus compared to all other organizations. Therefore, it’s a good opportunity to accomplish something that no one else can.
At the Logistics Congress 2024, we talked about the opportunities and challenges of the European Logistics Association and the opportunities of Slovenia in the European and regional space, for our podcast Frequency for Logistics, with Dr. Markus Mau, who has been the president of ELA since June 2023.
Collaboration in logistics remains a significant challenge. “That’s a tricky question. Looking at the timeline, I’d say a lot has happened, and today at the conference, we’ve seen many examples of best practices that show how collaboration works and what can be achieved both horizontally and vertically across the entire supply chain. So, we’re doing good. But I think that digitization and everything that comes with it offers even more potential. But overall, we’re in the right direction. I’d rate it maybe an eight.” our guest, Markus Mau, assesses collaboration between logistics companies in Europe on a scale of 1 to 10.
